Course of Oral Culture and Compilation of Folklore Production
The Mesopotamia Foundation organized a second course of Oral Culture and Compilation of Folklore Products. The course was designed with the aim of training new students and researchers who want to work in this field. The course instructors consisted of those who were competent both theoretically and in the field work. The course focused on Kurdish folklore, identity, folklore theories, ways and means of collecting, archiving and preserving folklore products.
The course lasted eight weeks and each week two instructors presented their topics on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Folklore experts such as Celîlê Celîl, Remezan Pertew, Necat Keskin, Bedran Hikmet Atlı, Eşref Keydanî, Mahpûs Serhedî, Mem Mukrîyanî, Newzad Hirorî, Salihê Heydo, Zeyneb Yaş, Hêmin Omer, Deniz Gündüz, Cemil Şêlazi, Seyda Goyan and Gulê Şadkam shared their experiences with the participants.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the 2020 course was hold on zoom. A total of 85 people from different cities and countries participated the course. It conducted interactively. The process was completed successfully.
