The October issue of the journal Folklor û Ziman has come out. Folklor û Ziman is an international refereed and  academic journal published twice a year under the auspices of  Mesopotamia Foundation. The journal includes academic studies on folklore and Kurdish language.

The fourth issue of Folklor û Ziman includes articles on folklore and the Kurdish language, book reviews, analysis and translation. The articles in this issue are as follows: 

In his article titled "Analysis of William R. Bascom's Mihemed Begê Spîvanê Story in Terms of Four Folklore Functions",Yasin Duran not only recorded and deciphered the story of "Mihemed Begê Spîvanê" by conducting a field study, but also analyzed the story according to William R. Bascom's theory. In his article titled “Kurdish Laments of Mardin and the Caucasus Region in terms of Structure, Content and Language”, Şükrü Yılmaz compared and analyzed the content, structure and languages of the laments over the materials of the two regions. In his article titled "Tor Dialect Time", Lokman Kalan analyzed the Tor Dialect in terms of grammatical aspects and tenses, based on the materials collected from the field.

Academicians Mustafa Aslan and Ayhan Yıldız both focused on the life and importance of Molla Mehmûd Bazîdî in their article titled “Analysis of Stories in Durru'l-Mecalîs by Molla Mehmûd Bazîdî” and analyzed 84 stories in Aleksandre Jaba's Kurdish Manuscripts Collection from various perspectives. A translated article is also included in this issue. This important article written by Yaron Matras on Kurmanji grammar in English has been translated by Umran Altınkılıç and Sinan Gültekin.

There are two books in the book evaluation section. The one, ’’ Etymological study comparing the Avesta and Kirmancki dialect’’ by Deniz Gündüz, was evaluated by Pınar Yıldız with the Kirmanckî dialect of Kurdish.The other one‘’ a compilation work by Dîyarî Asurî on the stories of the Batman region’’ was evaluated by academician Ayhan Yıldız.
